Following the launch of the updated BYD ATTO3 in Ultra and Premium versions in June this year, BYD Sime Motors has added the new ATTO 3 Performance AWD. Priced at RM149,800, this is only available in limited numbers – 69 to be exact, the number chosen to commemorate this 69th year of Merdeka.
Dual motors, AWD
Of significance with this version is the dual-motor powertrain which provides all-wheel drive. Total output generated by the two motors is 330 kW (442 hp) and 560 Nm of torque. That represents a significant jump over the rear-wheel drive Premium (230 kW/380 Nm) and front-wheel drive Ultra (150 kW/310 Nm).
With this higher output, it is claimed to be possible to go from 0–100 km/h in 4.0 seconds, down from 5.5 seconds in the Premium model.
The motors are powered a 74.88 kWh LFP Blade Battery which can provide a range of around 530 kms. This places the range of the ATTO3 Performance AWD between Premium (600 kms) and Ultra (480 kms from a smaller 60.48 kWh battery). DC fast charging performance matches the Premium at up to 220 kW.
The chassis incorporates a MacPherson strut set-up with a dual-ball joint at the front and a 5-link rear suspension layout. Maximum cargo space (with both rear backrests folded down) is stated as 1,360 litres, supplemented by a 101-litre frunk (front trunk).
Premium equipment level + extras
The ATTO3 Performance AWD has similar equipment and features as the Premium version, with some extras. Unique cabin hardware additional are a Head-Up Display on the windscreen, and an integrated refrigerator capable of cooling and heating. So you can keep your drinks cool or your burger warm… 20 years ago, such a feature was usually found only in expensive limousines.
Other standard features include the 15.6-inch rotatable infotainment display (portrait or landscape orientation), an 8.8-inch digital instrument panel, 50W wireless phone charging pad, panoramic sunroof, and ventilated powered front seats.
Safety equipment includes 7 airbags — including a front far-side centre airbag — with enhanced Advanced Driver Assistance Systems that have active systems such as Intelligent Speed Limit Control, Traffic Sign Recognition, Front Cross Traffic Alert, and Front Cross Traffic Brake.
RM10,000 early bird package
Each of the 69 units comes with 6-year/150,000 km vehicle warranty, 8-year/160,000 km high-voltage battery warranty, and an 8-year/160,000 km drive unit warranty. Early buyers can select between a complimentary wallbox for home charging or dedicated service packages valued at up to RM10,000.
