Proton e.MAS, the New Energy Vehicle brand of the Malaysian automaker, reported its highest monthly volume in August 2026, delivering a total of 6,047 vehicles (including 48 units overseas).
This makes it the fastest electrified vehicle brand in Malaysia to cross 6,000 units a month in sales. It comes 20 months after the December 2024 launch of the e.MAS 7.
e.MAS 5 is the leader
The entry-level e.MAS 5 led with 4,770 registrations, comprising nearly 80% of domestic volume and 54% of all EVs sold in Malaysia during the month. Geographically, demand remained concentrated in key economic centres, with Selangor, Johor, and Penang together drawing 71% of domestic sales.
Year-to-date sales for the brand reached 27,855 vehicles. Of these, 453 units were shipped to Nepal, Trinidad & Tobago, Singapore, and Mauritius.
Expansion continues with the network which now consists of 60 dealerships, 46 service centres, and 10 body and paint facilities nationwide.
