PRO-NET updates smart prices, introduces #5 BRABUS in Laser Red

When the smart #5 was launched in Malaysia in November 2025, it was nearing the end of the tax-exemption for EVs imported in CBU (completely built-up) form which occurred on December 31, 2025. Thereafter, EVs not assembled in Malaysia would be subject to import duty, excise duty and sales tax, which would obviously increase their retail prices.

The price adjustments were not immediate but would occur as vehicles imported before the deadline sold out, and for smart, it’s now time to make the changes.

RM10,000 increase
PRO-NET, the official distributor of smart vehicles in Malaysia, has announced the new prices which are RM209,800 for the Premium version and RM259,800 for the more powerful BRABUS version. At launch, the prices were RM199,800 and RM249,800, respectively.

Along with the price changes, PRO-NET has also introduced a limited-edition version #5 BRABUS in Laser Red, an exclusive high-gloss crimson exterior finish. The colour should certainly complement the performance capability of the fully electric SUV which has a claimed 0 to 100 km/h time of 3.8 seconds and a top speed of 210 km/h.

Same tech specs
Technical specifications and equipment are similar to the standard #5 BRABUS with a dual-motor all-wheel-drive powertrain producing a combined output of 475 kW (646 ps)/710 Nm. The motors are powered by a 100 kWh NMC battery pack which can provide a range said to be up to 540 kms.

With 800V architecture, a DC fast-charger (at 400 kW) can recharge from 10% to 80% within 15 minutes. For AC charging, the power supply acceptable can be up to 22 kW which would require 3-phase wiring for the wallbox.

Each unit comes with a 4-year unlimited mileage vehicle warranty, 8-year (or maximum of 200,000 kms) high-voltage battery warranty, and 8-year(maximum 150,000 kms) warranty for high-voltage components.
