For those who want a sportier image for their Nissan Serena, Edaran Tan Chong Motor (ETCM) now offers the Serena J IMPUL version priced from RM169,888 (without insurance). Developed in collaboration with IMPUL Japan, the Serena J IMPUL builds on the strengths of the Premium Highway Star Package with classy exterior touches, a sportier stance and a luxurious cabin ambience.
Cosmetic differentiators
Besides an IMPUL aerokit made in Japan, the popular MPV is enhanced with a chrome garnish that accentuates the profile of the front bumper. The trim also complements the distinctive chrome inserts of Nissan’s V-Motion front grille which gives a bold look. At the rear, chrome trim is applied to the lower edge of the bumper to visually differentiate the J IMPUL and likewise matches the front chrome accent. Of course, this variant will also be identifiable by the IMPUL badge on the back door.
The lightweight IMPUL Millennium Y-spoke 18-inch alloy wheels are manufactured in Japan and have a polished black finish. They are shod with ultra high-performance 225/40 R18 Goodyear Eagle F1 Sport tyres so strong grip is assured when taking corners at high speed.
Premium IMPUL makeover within
Within the Serena variant, there is a premium IMPUL makeover with the seats and door trim upholstered in combination leather. The supple handpicked Nappa leather has contrasting hues of burgundy and black, while a unique Japanese rock garden inspired seat pattern (with embroidered IMPUL logo) enhances the ambience of the 7-seater cabin.
Like the other Serena variants, the J IMPUL variant has the practical Dual Back Door with split tailgate operation as well as Dual Power Sliding Doors which can operate hands-free.
S-Hybrid powertrain
Powering the Serena is the proven S-Hybrid powertrain which consists of a MR20DD 2-litre CVTC 4-cylinder petrol engine and Energy Control electric motor. The total system output of 150 bhp/200 Nm flows through an X-TRONIC CVT with Adaptive Shift Control. Over the years, the powertrain’s efficiency has been confirmed and ETCM says fuel consumption is 14.2 kms/litre which enables a range of up to 852 kms on a full tank of fuel.
Nissan Intelligent Mobility for safer motoring
While safety is important for all types of vehicles, it is even more so for a MPV as more people may be on board. To ensure high levels of safe, there is Nissan Intelligent Mobility 360° Safety Shield as standard to help the driver be aware of potential dangers and also act autonomously to prevent accidents or reduce their damaging effects.
For example, the Serena’s Intelligent Around View Monitor (360° cameras) and Moving Object Detection (MOD) enable the driver to be aware of the surroundings during parking. MOD automatically senses moving objects around the vehicle, such as a child or a pet. This function is supplemented by Rear Cross Traffic Alert which warns the driver of approaching vehicles when reversing out of a parking bay.
