Hyundai Malaysia starts accepting bookings for new Stargazer, priced from RM99,000

Hyundai enters the small MPV battleground in Malaysia with the new Stargazer imported from Indonesia. The model was presented today at the KL International Mobility Show and will be officially launched at a later date. In the meantime, bookings are accepted for just RM88 (for the first 800 customers).

Malaysia is the fourth regional market to get the Stargazer which was launched in 2022.

6 or 7-seater
Designed and engineered for local conditions – rough roads, flooded stretches – the Stargazer has a generous wheelbase of 2780 mm. This allows for a spacious cabin to accommodate up to 7 persons.

There are 6-seater and 7-seater (2 versions) layouts; the 6-seater layout has two Captain’s seats in the second row.

Smartstream engine
Power comes from a 1.5-litre Smartstream engine with 115 ps/143.8 Nm output, the power going to the front wheels via an Intelligent Variable Transmission (CVT) with shift-by-wire control.

Level 2 ADAS
Designed as a vehicle for families, safety provisions are extensive, with Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance System. The Adaptive Cruise Control, for example, is active right down to 0 km/h and resumes automatically.

Besides a driver drowsiness monitor, a notable safety feature is the Rear Occupant Alert which will remind the driver if a child, pet or belongings are left behind when exiting from the vehicle. No more tragedies of children left to bake inside by forgetful parents.

The Wehicle
Introducing the Stargazer, Jahabarnisa Haja Mohideen, Managing Director of Hyundai Motor Malaysia, said: “The new Hyundai STARGAZER is what we call a ‘Wehicle’. It’s not just about the car but the people inside and around it. We believe that the WE in ‘WEhicle’ is the most important part.”
