Orders are now being taken and, with import duties now charged for EVs, the estimated prices start at RM450,000 and RM460,000, respectively. Personalisation will be possible as each unit will be built to order.
Although Hyundai Motor Malaysia (HMY), a subsidiary of the Korean automaker, seemed to have a limited model line-up, that is now changing as two more models are coming – and they’re EVs.
It has announced that high-performance Hyundai N models are now ready for sale and orders are accepted at authorised dealers.
Those who know the Hyundai N brand will know that its cars are ‘serious stuff’, tuned for high performance by the same people who also manage the Hyundai World Rally Team. Hyundai N is to Hyundai what GR is to Toyota and M is to BMW.

Their expertise is not just with combustion engine cars but also fully electric models and they have turned the IONIQ 6 and IONIQ 5 into powerhouses with the ‘N’ badge. And both proved so impressive that they were chosen as the 2026 and 2024 World performance Car, respectively.

HMY is offering both these machines as exclusive built-to-order units for each customer. The IONIQ 5 N will enter the market with an estimated price from RM450,000, while the more refined IONIQ 6 N will start from RM460,000. The ‘early birds’ will get RM2,000 worth of official Hyundai N merchandise.
The first public appearance of the IONIQ 5 N is at the Penang Autoshow 2026 until this Sunday (May 3). Bookings can be made at selected authorised Hyundai dealers, but the official launch date is not mentioned yet.
