MG Cyberster RWD joins range, priced from RM299,000

The MG Cyberster fully electric roadster with AWD (all-wheel drive) launched in Malaysia in December 2024 is now joined by a RWD (teat wheel drive) version. Priced at RM299,000 (still duty-free but not including insurance), the new Cyberster variant is RM20,000 cheaper than the AWD variant.

340 ps/475 Nm powertrain
The electric powertrain generates 250 kW (340 ps)/475 Nm, considerably less than the 375 kW (510 ps)/725 Nm of the AWD powertrain. But the Cyberster RWD is still quick and can get from standstill to 100 km/h in a claimed 5 seconds (the AWD variant does the same run in 3.2 seconds).

The battery capacity is the same at 77 kWh and with DC charging, it should take 38 minutes from 10% to 80%. The claimed range is 508 kms whereas the AWD variant was claimed to be able to go up to 444 kms.

Interior inspired by racing cars
While having a similar external appearance with the head-turning ‘scissors doors’, the Cyberster RWD’s interior is racing car-inspired with Alcantara inserts and enhanced lumbar support for the form-hugging seats. Facing the driver is a tri-wraparound screen setup consisting of a 10.25-inch digital driver display, dual 7-inch auxiliary screens, and a 7-inch infotainment touchscreen.

Customers can order the Cyberster in one of 4 exterior colours – Dynamic Red, Camden Grey, Inca Yellow, and English White. Depending on the exterior finish, the interiors are either black and red interiors with Dynamic Red or grey. The standard soft top is black in colour and for an extra RM2,000, the customer can have a red soft top.

Customers who place a booking for the MG Cyberster during the roadshow at 1Utama in Petaling Jaya, Selangor (July 9 – 13) will receive a 1-year unlimited charging package with JomCharge featuring AutoCharge functionality, a free 7kW Wallbox AC Charger, and an exclusive limited-edition MG Cyberster Diecast Model.
