Sime Motors opens DENZA flagship showroom in Kuala Lumpur

Sime Motors has converted its former Hyundai Sime Darby outlet in Jalan Kelang Lama, Kuala Lumpur, to a flagship showroom for its latest brand, DENZA. As before, the outlet is a 3S facility which offers the full range of sales and aftersales services, including spare parts.

The standalone building has an 8,165 sq.ft. showroom which can display up to 6 models, with a lounge for customers. At the rear is a service centre with 5 workbays and a team of technicians to look after DENZA models, currently only the D9 fully electric luxury MPV.

“This showroom represents more than just a retail space, it embodies Sime Motors’ vision for the future of mobility. We are proud to create an environment where design, technology, and exceptional hospitality converge to provide a seamless and inspiring experience for every visitor,” said Jeffrey Gan, Managing Director of Sime Motors, Southeast Asia.

Sime Motors invites the public to visit the new showroom this weekend (June 7 & 8, 9 am to 6 pm) where they can view and test-drive the D9 as well as enjoy family-friendly activities. There will also be exclusive deals – available only this weekend – in conjunction with the opening of the outlet.

Customers can also recharge their EVs while they are at the showroom.

In line with Sime Motors and DENZA’s commitment to delivering quality and peace of mind to customers, starting from July 1, 2025, the first scheduled maintenance is set at 20,000 kms or one year (whichever occurs first). This extended interval will enhance the ownership experience with extra convenience.

About DENZA and the D9
DENZA is a brand in the BYD portfolio which was originally started as a joint venture between BYD and Mercedes-Benz in 2010. In September 2024, Mercedes-Benz left the partnership so the Shenzhen Denza New Energy Automobile Co., Ltd, as the company is known, has become fully owned by BYD.

DENZA entered Southeast Asia at the 2023 Bangkok International Motor Show and officially launched its first model – the D9 – in Malaysia in February 2025. Unlike the arrangement with the BYD brand where Sime Motors is the distributor, BYD Malaysia is managing the distribution of DENZA vehicles itself. However, Sime Motors, apart from being a dealer, also has an important role as official vehicle importer (through its subsidiary Sime Darby Auto Imports which is an AP-holder).

The RM259,000 D9 got off to a good start with strong interest and the company reported that 800 units were booked in just 8 days after the launch. It is available in 2 versions with FWD and AWD. With a 103.36 kWh Blade battery pack developed and made by BYD, the D9 FWD has a claimed range up to 600 kms, while the AWD version can go up to 580 kms. Charging time from 30% to 80% is said to be within 30 minutes with a DC power supply of 166 kW.
