Since February 2024, the automaker has a dedicated product expert team consisting of 20 members which has spent more than 300 days conducting on-the-ground research across multiple international markets.

With the global user insights, Chery will provide mobility solutions that will be co-defined not by brands alone, but together with the users they are intended for.
One of the ideas that came about from such market studies is a vehicle which can have multiple configurations to suit the varying and different needs of families around the world. Displayed at the 2025 Chery User Summit in China this week, it is the world’s first ‘7-Seat Transformable Multi-SUV’.
‘6=1’ concept
User co-creation has helped redefine versatility with its disruptive ‘one vehicle, multiple configurations’ fitting different lifestyles. Referring to it as a ‘6=1’ concept, the vehicle can have different seat layouts – more than a conventional SUV or MPV. By detaching the rear hatch, a single vehicle transforms into 6 distinct interior and exterior layouts.
In its Large 7-Seat SUV Mode, the vehicle redefines the concept of a mobile ‘home’: With a body length of 4.9 metres and an interior height of 1284 mm, even a 6-year-old child can stand upright inside, while elderly passengers can enter and exit without bending over — offering comfort and convenience for the whole family.
For those who want to also used the vehicle for work, it instantly transforms into Double-Cab Pick-up Mode through an ingeniously designed quick-release structure. The bed provides 600 litres of cargo space, complete with 4 tie-down points and adjustable dividers to securely accommodate everything from surfboards and camping tents to floral arrangements and construction materials.
In Camper Mode, the SUV can be configured with a rich ecosystem of accessories — side awnings, pop-up roof tents, rear-seat entertainment screens, and an external power supply.

Presently a concept vehicle, this will be the basis of a new Chery model that will go on sale in the third quarter of 2026 in selected markets. It’s not known whether the variable layout and body concept might also be adopted for models in Chery’s other brands.
