The celebration honored Malaysia’s best-ever result at the games, where the contingent brought home a total of 39 medals.
Chery Malaysia continued its good corporate citizenship with a special recognition ceremony to celebrate medal-winning young para-athletes of the Malaysian contingent at the Asian Youth Para Games (AYPG) 2025 held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates from December 7 to 14.
The ceremony was held at the National Sports Council (NSC) and was attended by Dr. Mohammed Taufiq Johari, Minister of Youth and Sports, who witnessed Chery Malaysia presenting a contribution of RM208,000 to the NSC.

Inclusivity and community empowerment
The contribution supports Malaysia’s AYPG medal winners and extends RM1,000 to all participating athletes as part of Chery’s support for their AYPG journey. Demonstrating Chery Malaysia’s commitment to inclusivity and community empowerment, the initiative reflects the automotive brand’s belief that meaningful partnerships can unlock the potential of Malaysia’s next generation of para-athletes.
“At Chery, we believe that sports help build strong character. Through discipline and hard work, sports can shape your future and open doors to countless opportunities — and all of you have proven this through your achievements.” said Men Lin Bo, Executive Vice-president of Chery Malaysia.
He added that Chery will continue supporting the Malaysian community, particularly in sports and youth development, to help young athletes grow, improve, and achieve their dreams.

Best performance ever
This year’s AYPG saw Malaysia achieve its best performance in history. The team brought home 14 gold, 12 silver and 13 bronze medals across 8 sports (Archery, Athletics, Badminton, Boccia, Powerlifting, Swimming, Table Tennis, and Taekwondo). This was a remarkable improvement from just 13 medals won at the previous event held in Bahrain.
Support from Chery Group
In addition to on-ground support in Malaysia, the Chery Group played a prominent role at AYPG 2025 with AiMOGA (Artificial Intelligence with Multi-Objective Genetic Algorithm) developed by the automaker. Two intelligent robots — ARGOS, the robotic pet, and Mornine, the humanoid robot — made memorable appearances at the opening ceremony.

Both ARGOS and Mornine incorporate advanced capabilities such as autonomous following, dynamic balance, precise obstacle avoidance, and millisecond-level responsiveness — technologies that reflect Chery’s philosophy of ‘technology for good’, aimed at creating meaningful connections between innovation and human experience.
The Chery Group’s involvement in AYPG 2025 is part of a broader regional commitment to youth development and para sports.
