Following its preview at KLIMS 2026 and public displays at other locations, the Jetour T2 i-DM PHEV (plug-in hybrid electric vehicle) was officially launched tonight with a price of RM162,800 (excluding insurance).

The first 2,000 owners will get an Early Bird package worth up to RM3,000. Besides a V2L cable, they can choose either a wallbox or RM2,000 credit for charging (at ChargesSini stations).

This latest addition joins the Jetour T2 range in Malaysia which was launched in March this year. While the T2 has a 2-litre turbocharged petrol engine only, the T2 i-DM’s PHEV powertrain consists of a 1.5-litre turbocharged 4-cylinder engine and a single electric motor with a higher combined output.
Only FWD
The 3-speed Dedicated Hybrid Transmission delivers power only to the front wheels, unlike the T2 which has AWD. But there are 4 drive modes to optimise grip on loose or slippery surfaces, and the option of full EV or hybrid EV operation.

Though it has a smaller engine displacement, the PHEV powertrain has a combined output of 265 kW (360 ps)/610 Nm, which is more than the 245 ps/375 Nm of the T2. The electric motor alone generates 165 kW and 390 Nm, so acceleration on the highway would be quick.

Up to 1,200 kms range
Power for the motor comes from an 18.4 kWh battery pack which can provide a claimed electric-only range of over 100 kms. Working together with the engine, the 70-litre fuel tank is good for a range of up to 1,200 kms, it is claimed.

Unlike hybrid electric vehicles which are self-charging, a PHEV can be recharged and the battery pack in the T2 i-DM is said to require around 27 minutes to go 30% to 80% with a DC fast-charger at 57 kW.

The electricity from the battery pack can also be used to power external equipment or devices with the 3.3 kW Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) capability using an adaptor cable.
Same rugged looks as T2
Visually, the i-DM has the same the boxy, rugged design language of Jetour’s T-series of off-road vehicles (different from the urban-oriented crossovers like the Dashing and VT9.

PHEV badges identify this new version, and there’s also a second flap on the right side for the charging port.
Likewise, the 5-person cabin is also similar with a 15.6-inch central infotainment unit and 10.3-inch digital instrument cluster, plus a few extra features.

Closing off the 580-litre rear cargo compartment is the Electric Suction Tailgate which smoothly swings the door to lock it in place.

Jetour Auto Malaysia offers a vehicle warranty of 7 years/150,000 kms with the powertrain having a warranty of up to 10 years/1 million kms. The battery pack is covered by a separate 8-year/160,000-km warranty.
