iCAUR 03 RWD EV now also assembled locally

iCAUR Malaysia has added the iCAUR 03 Rear-Wheel Drive (RWD) variant to its locally-assembled line, joining the all-wheel-drive iWD variant which started local assembly in May 2026. The first customers will get their Malaysian-assembled vehicles in October.

The models are assembled at Chery Corporate Malaysia in Shah Alam, Selangor. This is one of two locations – the other being Inokom in Kedah – where Chery Malaysia assembles its Chery, Jaecoo and iCAUR models.

It is now building a big RM2.2 billion industrial park in Lembah Beringin, north Selangor where it will have its own factory and the new LEPAS brand will assemble its models there.

Jetour, which is also in the Chery Group, operates as an independent business entity in Malaysia and has chosen the Berjaya Assembly facility (formerly Oriental Assemblers) in Tampoi, Johor Bahru for its models.

Price unchanged from CBU units
Although the two models are now assembled locally, iCAUR Malaysia is maintaining the existing pricing structure. The 03 RWD therefore remains priced at RM119,740 (without insurance for Peninsular Malaysia), with all specifications and features identical to the units sold earlier which were imported from China.

The transition to complete local assembly arrives as the brand builds a firm footing in the domestic sub-RM150,000 EV sector. Since its introduction, over 2,000 units of the iCAUR 03 model line have been delivered around, with over 1,200 units delivered in 2026 alone.
