Perodua’s distributor in Sri Lanka, United Motors Lanka, has launched the Traz SUV along with the latest Alza MPV. The introduction of the new models comes as demand in Sri Lanka recovers following trade updates.
“Supported by Perodua’s proven manufacturing capabilities and the United Motors Group’s extensive sales and service network, we are confident that the Traz and Alza will further strengthen this trust among Sri Lankan families and businesses,” said United Motors Lanka PLC Group CEO and Executive Director, Chanaka Yatawara.
He said that since the lifting of vehicle import restrictions in 2025, the company has sold close to 3,000 vehicles. Besides Perodua, it also represents Mitsubishi Motors and a number of other Chinese brands offering passenger and commercial vehicles.
According to Perodua President & CEO, Dato’ Sri Zainal Abidin Ahmad, that Sri Lanka remains one of the company’s largest export destinations, with over 20,000 units sold in the market since Perodua first entered the country in 1997.
The market is one of six that the Malaysian automaker currently exports new vehicles to, the others being Brunei, Fiji, Mauritius, Bangladesh, and Papua New Guinea. Additionally, Perodua is actively expanding its business activity to export certified pre-owned vehicles to Timor Leste this year.
