Among the new products launched at the Malaysia Commercial Vehicle Expo (MCVE) 2026 this week is the N90 7.5-tonne light-duty truck from JAC.
The N90 is a 6th-generation model in JAC’s global series that has seen over 3.2 million units sold. Designed for the evolving logistics environment, the vehicle is positioned to address high-frequency transport and suburban delivery requirements.
Reputable powertrain
The strong point of the N90 is its powertrain which pairs a Cummins B4.5 Euro V diesel engine with an Eaton-Fuller ESO-6106A transmission. The powertrain is calibrated for efficiency at cruising speeds, with the engine operating between 1,200 and 1,600 rpm when traveling at 80 – 90 km/h.
According to technical data, this helps achieve a fuel consumption reduction of approximately 3% to 5% compared to traditional direct-drive transmissions. The engine itself produces a maximum output of 160 ps/540 Nm.
Structural versatility
Structural versatility is provided by offering a variety of wheelbase options ranging from 3365 mm to 4800 mm. Customers can configure the bare chassis for refrigerated units, cargo boxes, or specialized construction bodies.
Motoring safety is a high priority today and the N90 is equipped with various safety systems that help the driver maintain control and avoid hazards. These include Electronic Stability Control, ABS and Hill-Start Assist.
Inside the cab, there’s a modern environment for the occupants. The interior is equipped with an air-suspension seat and a 10.4-inch multimedia touchscreen integrated with an LCD instrument cluster.
6-year warranty
The N90 has a retail price starting from RM118,000 for the bare chassis. Each unit comes with a 6-year (maximum of 300,000 kms) warranty and a 10,000-km initial service program.
