Many Malaysians, like people all over the world, take lots of pictures, especially in this age of the phonecamera and a chance to share those images with the rest of the world through social media. Many images would be unique and Volkswagen Passenger Cars Malaysia (VPCM), together with Fujifilm Malaysia, invited submissions for its first-ever ‘Volkswagen Shutter Stories’ contest.
The contest drew entries from all over the country and participants had to provide one image each representing 5 inspiring cornerstones of Volkswagen: VW Love, VW Adventure, VW Motion, VW People, and VW Colours & Life. Two out of 5 entries had to also include a Volkswagen model.
“This photo competition is the perfect way to honour that connection by celebrating love, beauty, and a sense of adventure. sharing your world with us. The roads, the colours, the people, the pulse of Malaysia — we saw it all through their eyes. And we loved every frame of it,” said Charles Lim, Brand Manager at VPCM.
“Volkswagen is more than just cars — it’s about connection, and celebrating the joy of the journey and creating relationships for life. The brand already holds a special place in the hearts of many — not only among our passionate owners, but also those who resonate with the spirit of fun, style, and bold individuality that our cars embody,” Mr. Lim added.
The Grand Prize winner was Hasanul Asyraf bin Hanafi, 35, who won a Fujifilm camera and lens set worth up to RM7,000. The first runner-up, Kelvin Ooi, 23, received the latest Fujifilm instax Mini 99 with film (worth RM1,200), while the second runner-up Neeventhaa Perabagaran, a 19-year old student from Multimedia University Malaysia, received a Fujifilm instax Pal (worth RM588), as well as exclusive Volkswagen merchandise.
