Valen is Aston Martin’s most powerful production model

Aston Martin has revealed the Valen as the latest addition to the its line of limited-production V12 specials. Developed by the company’s Q by Aston Martin bespoke service alongside its Special Vehicle Operations division, the model continues the brand’s traditional ‘V’ naming strategy, deriving its name from the Latin ‘valens’, meaning ‘strong’ or ‘powerful’.

Visually, the Valen departs from standard production models with recessed headlights, a single-vent bonnet, saw-tooth side-sill vortex generators, and a solid rear tailgate replacing the traditional rear window to housing a 170-litre luggage compartment.

Inside, the cabin has familiar Aston Martin elements and features a re-angled centre console with 3D-printed elements, adopting control switchgear previously seen on the Valhalla.

Most powerful V12 from Aston Martin
Under the bonnet sits the most powerful version of the company’s 5.2-litre twin-turbocharged V12 engine. It develops 850 ps/1,000 Nm of torque from 2,500 rpm, with the power delivered to the rear wheels via a rear-mounted 8-speed ZF automatic transmission. The transmission has revised shift mapping derived from the Vantage GT4 racing program.

Weight management was a central focus during development. Through the extensive use of carbonfibre body panels, titanium fasteners, and magnesium wheels, Aston Martin’s engineers reduced mass by up to 110 kgs compared to the core V12 platform.

An optional lightweight package, incorporating solid-machined aluminium suspension arms and knuckles, reduces the weight by a further 16.9 kgs.

Chassis tuning
Chassis adjustments include a solid-mounted rear sub-frame, Bilstein DTX semi-active dampers, and carbon-ceramic brakes measuring 410 mm at the front and 360 mm at the rear.

The sportscar rolls on specially developed Pirelli P Zero R tyres equipped with Pirelli’s Cyber Tyre system, which feeds real-time sensor data directly into the electronic stability and traction control systems developed with Bosch.

Exhaust gas exits through a quad titanium system featuring 3D-printed tailpipes. The top two outlets remain open continuously, while the lower pair utilize active valves to adjust acoustic output according to the selected drive mode (Sport, Sport+, or Track).
