TQ Wuling has officially started delivering the first batch of locally assembled Bingo EVs to Malaysian customers, following the start of production at the plant in Kuala Lumpur in January.

Being a locally-assembled model, the Bingo EV will qualify for duty-exemption until the end of 2027. Prices start from RM67,800.
As the government’s incentive program for promoting the switch to electric mobility goes into its second phase this year with the duty-free incentives for EVs only given to models that are assembled locally, TQ WULING is one of the companies which is benefitting from it.
TQ WULING, the joint venture brand between the Tan Chong Group and SAIC-GM-Wuling (SGMW), began assembling the Bingo EV at the Tan Chong Group’s plant in Kuala Lumpur in January 2026 and has delivered the first batch of vehicles to customers.

The beginning of a community
The handover ceremony marks the transition for the brand from market introduction to real-world ownership. This first group of owners will form the foundation of the brand’s owner community as it establishes its presence in the local automotive landscape.

More extensive ADAS
Coinciding with these initial deliveries, the company announced that the Bingo EV has an expanded suite of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) as standard across all variants. The safety package includes Blind Spot Warning, Lane Change Assist, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, and Rear Collision Warning.

Other technical aids such as Tyre Pressure Monitoring, rain-sensing wipers, and impact-sensing automatic door unlocking are also integrated into the vehicle’s standard equipment.
In terms of structural safety, the Bingo EV assembled in Malaysia is the first export version of the model to have 6 airbags as standard. This emphasis on safety features is part of a strategy to provide intelligent protection systems in the entry-level EV segment, which has historically seen more basic safety specifications.
The Bingo EV has not been evaluated by ASEAN NCAP yet but being assembled in Malaysia, it is likely that it will be tested in due course.
Two versions available
Two versions – Bingo PRO and Bingo MAX – are being assembled, with prices of RM67,800 and RM72,800, respectively. Both versions provide a practical driving range, with the Bingo PRO having a claimed range of up to 333 kms and the Bingo MAX up to 410 kms.
Each Bingo EV comes with an 8-year/120,000 km EV battery warranty, 8-year/160,000 km drive motor warranty and 5-year/150,000 km vehicle warranty.

Sales and aftersales support for the new EV are currently managed through 6 outlets located across Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, Penang, and Johor. These are supported by 7 existing aftersales centres within the Tan Chong Group’s service network. The company has indicated that additional outlets will be integrated into the network as the number of vehicles on the road increases.
