New V25 completes iCAUR V-Series range

At the recent 2026 iCAUR International User Summit in China, iCAUR presented the V25 which completes the V-series SUV models of the brand (part of the Chery Group portfolio) which appeared just two years ago.

Classic SUV looks
With the boxy profile and upright proportions notably missing in modern SUVs for some time, the fully electric iCAUR vehicles have attracted much interest and strong sales with their classic SUV looks.

The new V25’s classic 3-box silhouette which is 4717 mm wide and 1926 mm wide has a height-to-width ratio close to 1:1, a flat front end, a clamshell bonnet, and an upright windscreen. Signature round LED headlights balance a vintage visual identity with modern lighting technology.

Beneath the retro-inspired exterior is modern and advanced architecture designed to handle diverse driving environments. The V25 comes with two powertrain choices, catering to different regional infrastructure conditions.

Two electrified powertrains
The first powertrain option has one or two electric motors to provide 2WD or 4WD. The 2WD variant produces 185 kW/300 Nm, while the 4WD variant generates 335 kW/505 Nm. Both are powered by an 80.16 kWh battery which can provide a claimed range up to 400 kms (4WD) to 445 kms (2WD).

The second powertrain variant makes the V25 a range-extended electric vehicle (REEV). In this hybrid electric configuration, only the 335 kW/505 Nm electric motors power the wheels. There is a small petrol engine present but its purpose is to recharge the battery. With a full tank of fuel, the range is 800 kms based on claimed consumption of 15.2 kms/litre.

An intelligent all-wheel drive system (i-AWD) continuously adjusts power distribution between the wheels in milliseconds for optimum traction on all surfaces. To prevent the extremely high torque generated at low engines speeds from causing excessive wheelspin on loose ground, an off-road mode moderate output.

Built to meet global safety standards worldwide, the V25 has a robust cage-type body structure reinforced with 5 horizontal and 6 vertical beams. Up to 80% of the structure and bodywork uses advanced high-strength steel. This results in the vehicle’s bodywork remaining tight and rattle-free even under heavy loads and unpaved conditions.

Space efficiency
Cabin architecture prioritizes space efficiency, comfort, and everyday modularity. Besides 41 storage compartments, there’s a spacious 1,549-litre cargo area, with additional front and underfloor storage solutions (BEV version).

The front seats can fold completely flat to turn the cabin into a sleeping area where the occupants can stretch out. Perforated microfibre upholstery and front-seat ventilation enhance comfort, while a 15-speaker premium audio system provides entertainment on the move.

With Chery Malaysia’s emphasis on local production, the V23 and 03 are assembled in Malaysia and it is likely that when the V25 is introduced, it too will be assembled locally (possibly at the Chery Smart Auto Industrial Park in north Selangor).
