Mitsubishi Xforce assembly underway at assembly plant in Pahang

Quick look

  • The Xforce joins the XPANDER as the second locally-assembled Mitsubishi model in Malaysia at the assembly plant in Pahang.

  • Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia made additional investments to upgrade the assembly line and processes for the Xforce.

With the launch of the all-new Mitsubishi Xforce in the very near future, the first units of the compact SUV have started to leave the line at the assembly plant (within HICOM  Automotive Manufacturers) in Pekan, Pahang. This coincides with the opening of bookings at all authorised Mitsubishi Motors dealers and the public will also be able to see the Xforce at various locations.

First deliveries in April
Following comprehensive quality validation and production readiness checks, the first 800 customers will receive their new vehicles during April.

Additional investment in assembly facilities
The introduction of the Xforce underscores Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia’s (MMM) continued commitment to product expansion and local manufacturing. To introduce this new model, MMM invested in upgrading its assembly facilities which have so far been used for the XPANDER. A new Sub-Assembly Body Shop and advanced equipment across the paint, outfitting, and tester lines were installed to ensure high quality for the Xforce.

MMM has been assembling the XPANDER MPV in Pahang since October 2020. Shown is an XPANDER exiting the electro-deposit primer tank which is one of the processes for ensuring high corrosion resistance and durability of Mitsubishi vehicles.

Production of the Xforce at Pekan is carried out in accordance with Mitsubishi Motors’ globally established production standards, developed through decades of Japanese manufacturing expertise. From body assembly to painting and final inspection, each process is governed by disciplined workmanship. Stringent quality controls ensure consistent build quality, durability, and long-term reliability – attributes that have contributed to the strong reputation of the brand.
