Kia Sales Malaysia enhances parts availability and distribution

Kia Sales Malaysia (KSM) has completed the full-scale establishment of its centralised parts warehouse in Shah Alam, Selangor, a move that will improve parts availability and distribution for Kia vehicles nationwide.

The facility, located at One Logistics Hub and operated in partnership with PKT Logistics Group, covers approximately 20,000 square feet. Recent shipments of service, electrical, mechanical and structural components have brought near-complete parts coverage for all models currently on sale.

Older models included
Owners of older models are not forgotten as there are also parts for earlier generations too. These include the Forte, Cerato, Picanto, Stinger, Seltos, Optima, EV6 and EV9, as well as multiple generations of the Carnival, Sportage and Sorento.

Kia Sales Malaysia will also keep parts for older models like the Picanto and Sportage.

Enhanced order and inventory systems now streamline the process from dealer ordering to quality control and despatch. The warehouse aims for same-day delivery within the Klang Valley and shorter lead times for other regions. Delivery accuracy has stood at 100% since operations began.

KSM has also worked with its dealer network on inventory management and replenishment, supported by training and system monitoring of stock levels at individual outlets.

Kia Maintenance Plan
Earlier in 2026, KSM introduced an average 15% reduction in prices across nearly all Kia Genuine Parts. The company has also adjusted the Kia Maintenance Plan, a prepaid 5-year package covering scheduled servicing. Customers may now purchase this plan up to 11 months after vehicle registration, provided the first lubricant change milestone has not been reached.

The plan includes full synthetic engine oil, oil filter, cabin and engine air filters, brake fluid, spark plugs, multi-point inspections, labour and standard scheduled service costs for manufacturer-specified intervals. Pricing starts from RM2,980 for the Sportage 1.6T, RM3,580 for the Carnival 2.2D and RM3,680 for the Sportage 2.0.

Focus on fundamentals
KSM President & CEO Hyung Ho Kim said the focus remains on fundamentals such as parts availability, inventory management, dealer capability and service support.

“Since the start of our operations, our approach has been to build the fundamentals first – from parts availability and inventory management to dealer capability and service support. These are the foundations that allow us to deliver a more consistent ownership experience today, while preparing Kia Malaysia for sustainable growth in the years ahead,” he said.

Enriching the ownership experience
The strengthened aftersales infrastructure is complemented by initiatives aimed at making Kia ownership more accessible and manageable over the longer term. KSM Managing Director, Emily Lek, emphasised that establishing the centralised warehouse operations has been a key pillar of Kia’s Return, Rebuild and Reposition strategy in Malaysia.

“These efforts are complemented by initiatives such as the reduction in genuine parts prices and greater flexibility for customers to purchase the Kia Maintenance Plan. Together, these measures are designed to make Kia ownership more straightforward and predictable, while ensuring our aftersales capabilities continue to grow alongside our customer base,” said Ms Lek.
