Honda Malaysia has announced a recall involving 87,490 units of Honda vehicles sold in Malaysia between 2013 and 2024. The recall of the vehicles is to replace a fuel pump as a precautionary measure although, to date, there have been no incidents reported which have been due to problems of the fuel pump.
The company believes this recall is necessary as customer safety is Honda Malaysia’s top priority. Although many of the affected vehicles no longer have the original warranty, the replacement will still be made at no charge to the owner as this is a matter concerning safety. Honda Malaysia also stresses that all current production and selling models are not affected.

The recall details
Fuel Pump Impeller
One of the two items is the fuel pump’s impeller which may swell after prolonged fuel immersion, potentially preventing the vehicle from starting or causing the engine to stall while driving. A total of 84,073 units of the Jazz, City, Civic, Accord, BR-V, HR-V, CR-V and Odyssey are involved. The specific years of vehicles affected are shown on the chart below:
High-Pressure Fuel Pump
The high-pressure fuel pump may crack due to prolonged use and excessive stress, potentially leading to a fuel leak or give rise to fuel smell while driving or idling. A total of 3,417 units of the Civic and CR-V are being recalled. The specific models affected are shown on the chart below:
Owners of the affected vehicles will be informed via notification letters, which will include details of the product recall. In the event that you are not the original owner, such a notification may not reach you as Honda Malaysia may not have your contact details.
