Bookings accepted for GWM ORA 5 HEV

The launch of the GWM ORA 5 HEV will take place in November and for those who want to be the first to own one, authorised GWM dealers nationwide are now accepting orders for the hybrid electric vehicle (HEV).

The price of the compact crossover SUV is RM115,000 and for the money, you get a powertrain developed with Great Wall Motor’s Hi2 intelligent hybrid architecture and technology.

1,100 kms range, no charging needed
The powertrain combines a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine with an electric motor to generate a total system output of 223 ps/476 Nm of torque. According to manufacturer figures, fuel consumption can be up to 23 kms/litre which means a potential range of 1,100 kms on a full tank of fuel.

HEVs offer the fuel-saving benefits of electrified powertrains without the need to manually recharge as they are self-charging as the vehicle is on the move. Therefore, you can drive it like a normal ICE car and only need to add petrol periodically – and petrol stations are easily found.
