6-seat Tesla Model Y launching in Malaysia next month

Following its launch at the Bangkok International Motor Show this week, the 6-seater Tesla Model Y L Premium will also appear in Malaysia at the beginning of April.

This is an extended version (+178 mm) of the top-selling Model Y and has 2+2+2 seating with a walk-through between the middle seats (Captain type) to the rear row. To provide the extra cabin length, the wheelbase has also been extended by 150 mm. Within the lengthened cabin, there’s cargo volume of up to 2,539 litres (19% more than a Model Y).

The lengthened version gets some additional features and a larger battery with a 82 kWh capacity which is said to give a range of up to 681 kms. Going by the specs in the model displayed in Thailand, it will have dual motors with a total output of 340 kW (456 hp).

The Model Y Premium is priced from RM253,150, so the longer version would likely cost more.
