OMODA | JAECOO creates Art Cars

Cars have often been seen as ‘rolling sculptures’, a term which is believed to have first been used in 1951 to describe eight cars on display at the Museum of Modern Art in New York City. It highlights the artistic value of certain automotive designs that may have unique style and innovation.

While the original term referred generally to designs and forms, there are also ‘Art Cars’ today which are more of ‘moving works of art’. The cars serve more as a ‘canvas’ for artistic expression to express a theme or idea. The BMW Art Cars, numbering a total of 20 since the first one was commissioned in 1975, are perhaps the best known Art Cars.
