Participants drove the Proton e.MAS 7 and e.MAS 7 PHEV from Shah Alam to Janda Baik, noting the ultra-quiet cabins (low NVH) and experiencing a live 100kW DC fast-charging demonstration that topped up the battery from 30% to 80% in 20 minutes.
Proton e.MAS, currently holding its position as the top-selling EV brand in Malaysia, recently concluded its second women-led experiential drive event known as ‘The Real e.MAS Drive’. Organised by PRO-NET, PROTON’s New Energy Vehicle subsidiary, this year’s edition coincided with Women’s Health Month under the theme ‘Zoom to Bloom’.
The event combined the practical dynamics of zero-emission mobility (with Proton e.MAS EVs) with a strong emphasis on lifestyle, wellness, and mental well-being, specifically tailored to the growing demographic of female drivers in the country.

Experience for women
“The return of ‘The Real e.MAS Drive’ reflects how the Proton e.MAS journey with female drivers continues to grow. We are seeing increasing interest in electric vehicles among Malaysian women, driven by the need for mobility that is practical, accessible, and easy to live with,” said Salawati binti Mohd Yusoff, Chief Branding Officer of PRO-NET.
“With ‘Zoom to Bloom’, we wanted to create an experience that not only showcases our vehicles but also encourages women, our ‘Real e.MAS’ to take time to recharge and prioritise their well-being,” she said.

Shah Alam to Janda Baik
The event commenced from the Proton Centre of Excellence in Shah Alam, Selangor and took the participants on a scenic highway and trunk road route towards Janda Baik, Pahang. The drive was designed to simulate real-world urban and sub-urban motoring, allowing drivers to assess the everyday usability and highway mannerisms of the new e.MAS 7 and the e.MAS 7 PHEV.

Along the way, a live fast-charging demonstration was conducted to showcase how modern high-output DC charging can be easily integrated into regular daily routines without causing disruption. With a 100kW DC fast-charger, the batteries in the vehicles can be ‘refuelled’ from 30% to 80% capacity in approximately 20 minutes.
During the drive, the participants noted the smooth acceleration and low noise, vibration, and harshness (NVH) levels which are typical of EVs as there is no conventional petrol engine.
What they experienced
“Driving the Proton e.MAS 7 felt unexpectedly effortless. The quiet cabin, smooth acceleration, and relaxed route made the entire journey feel more like a lifestyle experience than a test-drive. It’s a car that fits naturally into everyday routines,” said Zakkina Wati Ahmad Tarmizi.
“The Proton e.MAS 7 PHEV really changed my perception of EV ownership,” added Madhuri Rasamoney, who appreciated the practicality of the Dual-Power SUV.

At the destination in Sentosa Janda Baik, the focus shifted to mental rejuvenation and creativity with an interactive workshop centred on modern ikebana floral arrangement techniques. The inclusion of this mindful session aligned directly with the Women’s Health Month theme, reminding participants of the importance of taking regular intervals to rest and recharge.

They were also shown the e.MAS 5 in Jade Green, a new colour option which drew strong interest for its soft, lifestyle-led appeal. The exterior colour, reminiscent of the rising ‘matcha-inspired’ aesthetic trend, resonated as a refreshing, youthful expression of everyday mobility.
