It is useful for not only buyers of used cars but also sellers who can accurately describe the condition of their cars.
With the new vehicle market is booming, the used car market is also active since those buying new cars also need to dispose of the old ones. The process of disposal is varied but whatever it is, there is a need for an assessment and understanding of the condition of the vehicle by buyers.
In the past, those buying used vehicles did not know much about the vehicle they were buying. If they were unlucky, it might have been abused and had hidden mechanical problems that would make owning a nightmare. Or, they might be lucky and get one which was well looked after and regularly serviced.

Some might call on mechanics to accompany them to inspect the vehicle and offer their opinion. There are also some companies that offer such inspection services that can help a buyer have some peace of mind.
AI-driven technology
Now WISEDRIVE offers technology with AI-driven inspections, sound recognition, visual analysis, and diagnostic data to ensure buyers have information about used vehicles that is accurate, efficient and holistic. It is not only for sellers but also for buyers who can accurately depict the condition of their cars, allowing for fairer pricing.

“Malaysia will be the first country for WISEDRIVE’s expansion into Southeast Asia with fully operations teams and supporting partners, in a country that not only is a car-producing nation, but is also a market with higher penetration of AI and technology consumption”, said Philipp Moeller, CEO for WISEDRIVE Southeast Asia.
Mr. Moeller explained that WISEDRIVE’s expansion in Malaysia is designed to create real commercial value across the ecosystem. By standardising inspection, diagnostics, and risk data, the system also enables banks, insurers and, dealers to price vehicles more accurately while reducing operational risks. At the same time, workshops benefit from a steady pipeline of verified inspection and repair jobs. This makes WISEDRIVE a shared growth platform for Malaysian industry stakeholders.

“While we have seen the most progress of WISEDRIVE’s development in Malaysia, we are also expected to kick off pilot operations in Thailand and Indonesia during the first quarter of 2026,” he added. WISEDRIVE, which began operations in 2021, is India’s first Generative AI company providing innovative used car inspection services and advanced showroom grade Extended warranty services for used cars in India.
How WISEDRIVE works
The WISEDRIVE AI technology works by comparing visual and audio data against thousands of known problems detected and identified by the AI system, including problems that cannot be inspected with human eyes and ears. It employs cutting-edge machine learning, computer vision and acoustic processing technology to analyse 150,000 visual and 31 million audio datasets covering 8,245 car models and variants, including popular brands Proton and Perodua from the time their models were launched.

This is said to be a game-changer in the way inspections are performed, by delivering engine analysis that is 20 times more accurate than manual inspections, through trained AI with access to more than 1.3 million engine sound samples and faults related to them. The process also leads to 95% of human error being minimised, as inspectors only need to upload photos and videos to the app during the inspection session, which is now shortened in time by 75%.

The technology is also built to deliver a seamless end-to-end process for the customer journey, with a 2-minute booking process, a 90-minute inspection session and an instantly available full report on the vehicle.
“We are proud to be part of the WISEDRIVE ecosystem, which is built on a shared vision — using technology and data to improve transparency, efficiency, and trust within the automotive ecosystem. Through this partnership, we aim to pioneer WISEDRIVE’s expansion and localisation in Malaysia, while bringing strong product capability and regional experience to the local market,” said Hafiz Zubir, Country Manager for WISEDRIVE Malaysia.
