Quick look

Perodua hit a new high of nearly 360,000 units sold in 2025, reaching a cumulative production milestone of 5.5 million vehicles during the year.
-
A third small factory has been built for making EVs, with plans to scale production from an initial 500 to 3,000 units monthly by late 2026.
No surprises that Perodua was again the bestselling brand in 2025 with almost 360,000 units sold – yet another record – along with its Bezza being the bestselling model for the year.
Adding a second factory
The ability to reach such a volume annually was made possible 10 years ago when the Malaysian automaker began operations with its second factory – Perodua Global Manufacturing Sdn Bhd (PGMSB).

The original factory which began operations in 1994 had reached its maximum capacity (after additional investments) and to be able to go to the next level, Perodua invested in a brand new factory which would also have the latest manufacturing technologies for higher efficiency and quality.

100,000+ units added
PGMSB added another 100,000 units to the capacity which was already at 200,000 units a year. Over the past 10 years, Perodua has continued to make further investments to increase the capacity which has reached 350,000 units. That it produced 370,370 units more was due to optimising production to get the extra capacity.

Dedicated EV factory
Besides the two big factories, Perodua has also built a third one specially for electric vehicles, starting with the QV-E. The capacity of this factory is small at this initial stage (500 units/month) and will rise to 3,000 units a month by the third quarter of 2026. As has been its practice all along, Perodua doesn’t rush things and gives a lot of attention to getting processes right and ensuring consistency in quality before increasing output.
