How about a Proton Saga Aeroback?

While the early Proton models were adapted from the Lancer model in the Mitsubishi Motors range, not many realise that the Aerobacks were actually unique to Proton. There was no Lancer model in the Mitsubishi range with such a bodystyle which had a hatchback and a slightly sportier profile. So perhaps it was the true ‘Malaysian Car’ with an original and exclusive design.
The term ‘aeroback’ was not new in the industry, having been first used on an American model in the late 1970s. It was used by some manufacturers on and off, with Ford also using it for their Sierra in the early 1980s.

Since the early Aerobacks for the Saga and Wira, Proton has not offered the bodystyle again. The Gen2 would have been an ‘aeroback’ but Proton didn’t want to use that term and just labelled it as a hatchback, like other similar cars in the market.
Theottle, our friend who fantasizes a lot about cars, wonders if an Aeroback version of the latest Saga might be worth considering. He even provides an image of what it could look like and if you like it, do express your positive views here.
