With the 50th anniversary of the BMW 3-Series this year, BMW Malaysia is celebrating the milestone in various ways and this includes adding another model to its range – the M340i xDrive M Sport Pro. Assembled locally at the Inokom plant in Kedah, the new addition is priced from RM388,800. Customers can include BMW Service & Repair Inclusive for an additional RM26,400 which provides a 5-year extended warranty and service package.
BMW M genes
The M340i xDrive M Sport Pro embodies the evolution of the 3-Series over 7 generations and with its BMW M genes as well, it has a performance-oriented identity with a bold, athletic design language. The signature kidney grille is flanked by sleek Adaptive LED headlights with High Beam Assistant, further accentuated by M Lights shadowline.
The M Aerodynamics package custom-designed for the model doesn’t just enhance muscular contours and sculpted lines but also has functional benefits. The rear of the vehicle has dual exhaust tailpipes and an M rear spoiler that underscores the car’s dynamic intent. Behind the 19-inch M light alloy wheels with a double spoke design are M Sport Brakes in high-gloss red.
Performance-focussed cabin
Inside the M340i xDrive M Sport Pro is the typical BMW cabin with a performance-focused theme that includes sports seats for the front occupants. However, it is also refined with Sensatec upholstery, luxury instrument panel and galvanic control buttons that add a premium touch and look.
Adding to the sporty interior are M seatbelts, Aluminium Rhombicle Anthracite M interior trim, M headline anthracite and a 3-spoke leather-wrapped M steering wheel with a 12 o’ clock marker. An updated tyre pressure indicator keeps the driver aware of the important pressures in the tyres.
The driver-oriented BMW Curved Display integrates a 12.3-inch instrument cluster and 14.9-inch touchscreen control display, providing the driver with all the necessary information. The infotainment system is managed by BMW Operating System 8.5 which is an updated version of BMW’s iDrive system. This focuses on touch-based interaction and has a user-friendly interface as well as enhanced integration with the BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant.
The standard audio system is a 16-speaker, 464W Harmon Kardon Surround Sound System with exceptional clarity and an immersive experience. Other standard features are ambient lighting, an electric glass roof, and a through-loading system.
3.0-litre BMW I-6
The M340i xDrive M Sport Pro is powered by a 3.0-litre BMW TwinPower Turbo inline 6-cylinder engine which produces up to 387 ps/500 Nm. The output goes to all 4 wheels through an 8-speed Steptronic Sport Transmission and the intelligent BMW xDrive all-wheel drive system.
The 3-Series has long been known for its superior driving dynamics and for the M340i xDrive M Sport Pro, there’s Adaptive M Suspension, M sport differential and Variable Sport Steering as standard, ensuring the driver has full control of the car.
