Leapmotor’s growth over the past few years is reflected in the size of its small booth which was just a few dozen square metres in 2019 to a spacious one of a thousand square metres at the 2025 Shanghai International Auto Show (Auto Shanghai 2025). Its sales volume has rapidly increased to 300.000 units in 2024, doubling the number of the previous year.
At Auto Shanghai 2025, the automaker displayed a full range of models as well as unveiled the B01, a tech savvy sedan for the C-segment. It is part of the B-series of models which, as part of Leapmotor’s global strategy, focuses on the world’s largest segment. By the end of 2025, three models – the B10, B05, and B01 – will be on sale in various countries.
Leap3.5 technology
The B-Series adopts the highly advanced and fully integrated LEAP3.5 technology and architecture, featuring intelligence, entertainment, quality, and a user-based design. It offers the strongest cockpit experience in its class, end-to-end high-level smart driving with over 600 kms range.
Tech and smart EV company
Leapmotor presents itself as a tech and smart EV company. It aims to be user-centric, bringing innovations that are easy-to-use and creating content-rich and affordable products without compromises on quality and durability.
Much of the 10-year old automaker’s R&D is done in-house. To date, over 65% of core components used in its vehicles are self-researched and manufactured, with industry-first technologies such as the 8-in-1 electric drive, the first mass-produced CTC (cell-to-chassis) battery integration technology, and the first 4-domain central electronic and electrical architecture.
Leapmotor and Stellantis
Leapmotor’s export business is managed by Leapmotor International, a joint venture between the Chinese automaker and Stellantis which was formed in May 2024. Headquartered in the Netherlands, Leapmotor International handles channel networks, aftersales service, automotive finance, logistics, and component empowerment for the growing number of markets that the brand is entering.
To date, Leapmotor is in 23 international markets in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Asia-Pacific, and South America, with over 550 sales and after-sales service outlets. This number is expected to reach 700 by 2026.
