JAECOO J8 launched with prices starting from RM178,800

It’s been a busy first year for OMODA | JAECOO and the new models haven’t stopped coming. Previewed in March this year, the flagship JAECOO J8 has been officially launched this evening.

As usual, OMODA | JAECOO Malaysia has given the market a pleasant surprise on the pricing which it suggested would be around RM195,000 back in March when we were first intRoduced to the premium SUV.

The confirmed prices, without insurance, start at RM178,800 for the J8 2WD and RM198,800 for the AWD version. First deliveries begin later this month with the AWD version, followed by the 2WD version a bit later.

The J8 comes in 2WD and AWD versions with space for 6 persons (5 persons in 2WD version) within the spacious cabin. Both versions are powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged, direct-injected in-line 4-cylinder petrol engine that produces 249 ps/385 Nm, paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission.

As with other OMODA | JAECOO models sold in Malaysia, the J8 is assembled in Malaysia at the Chery Corporate Malaysia plant in Selangor. True to its commitment to the government, Chery Malaysia will shortly begin exporting some of the production from this plant which began operations just last year. The first export market will be Vietnam.

This package also extends the standard 7-year/150,000 km warranty with an upgraded 10-year/unlimited mileage engine warranty.
