iCAUR 03 EV launched with prices starting from RM119,800

iCAUR is a very young brand; in fact, it made its debut (as iCAR for the China market) just 5 months ago at the 2025 Shanghai International Automobile Industry Exhibition. The fully electric brand has been created through a collaboration between Chery and SmartMi Tech.

Two versions
Malaysia is one of its first export markets and the first model it is launching today is the 03. The compact SUV is available in two versions – with RWD only (priced from RM119,800) and with all-wheel drive (priced from RM129,800). The RWD version has a 135 kW (184 ps) electric motor at the rear which generates 220 Nm of torque, while the AWD version has dual motors producing a total of 205 kW (279 ps)/385 Nm.

The RWD version comes with a 65.7 kWh LFP battery which can provide a claimed range of up to 426 kms, with the AWD version having a larger 69.8 kWh battery but a claimed range of up to 418 kms. There’s an 8-year/160,000 km warranty on the battery and drive unit. In addition, there’s a battery replacement guarantee, offering a one-to-one replacement if the battery’s State of Health drops below 70%.

For a bolder presence, there is the Black Phantom Edition (shown below) with an exclusive exterior bodykit, matte-black finish, roof rack platform, and side-ladder. Only a limited number will be available and cost RM20,000 more.

Highlights of the 03 include a first-in-segment aluminium body and monocoque chassis with anti-corrosion protection for up to 30 years; 4-layer IPX8 battery armour system; 6-in-1 electric drive module; and the iROAD system with up to 10 selectable all-terrain drive modes.

Early Bird offer
All bookings for the 03 made by September 17 will entitle the owners to unlimited charging via the JomCharge network (including authorised roaming partners) during the first 12 months after registration. This benefit is an industry-exclusive first in Malaysia.

Also included for the first 1,000 owners is a lifestyle package worth RM3,000, with iCAUR merchandise and vouchers from Starbucks, JD Sports, Sunway Lagoon, and Touch‘nGo. There is also a free Wallbox charger (valued at RM3,400) for home or office installation so charging can be done more easily.

Customers can also purchase a Wallbox installation package, provided through a partnership with EVC and KINETA, for a standardised cost of RM1,388.

Initial batches of the EV will be imported CBU from China. iCAUR Malaysia gives assurance that replacement parts will be available as it has already stocked a warehouse with over 10,000 items. Local assembly of the 03 will begin in early 2026 at Chery Malaysia’s own plant in Shah Alam, Selangor.
