PRO-NET, the New Energy Vehicle subsidiary of PROTON, will launch its third Proton e.MAS model today. It will be the brand’s first plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV).

The long-range capability has been demonstrated in a livestreamed drive which covered over 1,100 kms without refuelling or recharging.
Want to go electric but still worry about not being able to find a charging station? Proton e.MAS offers you an alternative that gives the benefits of electric mobility without range anxiety. It’s the e.MAS 7 with a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) drivetrain. This has a small petrol engine and an electric motor which work together and at times, you can even drive on just electricity (up to 170 kms).

Because the electric motor shares the workload of moving the SUV, fuel consumption is significantly reduced and it has been proven that the e.MAS 7 PHEV can travel over 1,100 kms without refuelling and without recharging. With the full tank having a capacity of 61 litres, the fuel consumption can be up to 23 kms/litre.
