First 999 Proton X50 buyers have received their new SUVs

With over 8,000 customers waiting for their new Proton X50, the Malaysian automaker has been working hard to deliver the new vehicles as quickly as possible. Fortunately, the model is assembled locally at the factory in Tg. Malim, Perak, so PROTON can get vehicles in a shorter time. At the end of July, some 2,000 units were already out from the plant on the way to dealerships around the country.

Following the usual PDI (pre-delivery inspection) by dealers and registrations processes, 999 units were delivered within 5 working days. With a constant flow of SUVs from the plant, Proton dealers will be calling up their customers with good news and prepare to hand over the new X50.

“The recent launch of the all-new Proton X50 followed a carefully planned sequence where publicity was ramped up in a series of on-ground activations. We received tremendous support from potential buyers who were impressed by the features offered and as a result, we garnered 5,000 bookings in just 10 days before the price was revealed. Cumulatively, we have now received 8,000 bookings as at the end of July,” said Zhang Qiang, Deputy CEO of Proton Edar.

“Having committed to build up our stock levels prior to the launch, we were able to deliver 999 units to our early bird customers just 5 working days later. We plan to keep production levels high to ensure the waiting time for customers is kept to a minimum,” he promised.

Over 140,000 units sold to date
With over 140,000 units sold since its original launch in October 2020, the X50 is the most popular B-segment SUV in Malaysia and PROTON intends to build on that success by widening its product appeal.

Additionally, PROTON has also collaborated with Anugerah Melodi Terhangat, an annual awards show where viewers cast votes for their favourite artists. The finale event will be held this Sunday (August 3) at the Putrajaya International Convention Centre, where the inaugural Anugerah Pilihan Proton X50 Superstar will reward the winner with an X50.

The new X50 is priced (without insurance) from RM89,800 to RM113,300 and 3 versions are available. If you buy one before October 31, 2025, PROTON has a Gempak! Deal which reduces the price by RM4,000.

There are also additional benefits for buyers.
