DENZA service interval extended to 20,000 kms/1 year

Motorists today who own the latest models are fortunate to have longer service intervals of more than 10,000 kms. 25 years ago, there were cars which had to be sent to the service centre every 5,000 kms or 3 months, which not only imposed on the owner’s time but also incurred costs. They had to adhere to the intervals since that is a condition of the warranty.

With longer service intervals, owners now have to visit the service centre fewer times in a year, saving time and money.

DENZA Malaysia has likewise extended the service intervals for its vehicles; where there was a first inspection of 5,000 kms or 3 months, the interval is now set at 20,000 kms or one year (whichever comes first).

Although the D9 is a fully electric vehicle with less mechanical parts in its powertrain, there are still other areas of the vehicle that need to be inspected periodically, eg the suspension, tyres and brakes.

Although DENZA vehicles are fully electric and supposed to require less maintenance, there is still a need for periodic visits to the service centre. There are other areas of the vehicle to be inspected and parts like the brake pads and tyres wear out over time. A visit to the service centre will also ensure that any potential issues are spotted and can be fixed before they cause inconvenience.

The decision to extend the maintenance interval was driven by the company’s desire to offer greater convenience for a more seamless ownership experience. By reducing the frequency of initial service visits, owners will benefit from more time on the road enjoying their vehicles.

“This extension of our first scheduled maintenance interval is a testament to the exceptional quality and durability embedded in every DENZA vehicle,” said Eagle Zhao, Managing Director of BYD Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. which manages the DENZA brand. “Our engineering excellence allows us to confidently offer this enhanced convenience to our valued customers. This move not only underscores our commitment to delivering a premium ownership experience but also reflects our unwavering belief in the long-term reliability of our products. We are dedicated to providing peace of mind and ensuring our customers enjoy every journey.”

DENZA Malaysia currently offers the D9 MPV which was launched on February 20, 2025. Two versions are available, priced from RM259,000.
