Cycle & Carriage adds Kia to its brand portfolio

Cycle & Carriage (C&C) has added another global brand to its portfolio, this new one being Kia. The company, which has a history going back to 1899, is the latest to be appointed as an authorised dealer partner by Kia Sales Malaysia Sdn. Bhd.

Actually, the Korean brand is not new to C&C as it was the franchise holder and distributor in the early 1990s, before it was taken over by the NAZA Group. However, it is a very different relationship now as Kia Sales Malaysia, a subsidiary of Kia Motors, is handling marketing and distribution.

C&C is best known for its association with Mercedes-Benz, which it brought to Malaysia in 1951. Over the years, through various divisions, it has been involved in brands like Mitsubishi Motors, Peugeot, Mazda and is today also a dealer for Leapmotor and Peugeot again.

Through its various subsidiaries like Cycle & Carriage (Malaysia), the company with a history going back to 1899 has handled many different brands. However, it is Mercedes-Benz that it is most associated with as it brought the brand to Malaysia in 1951.

“The appointment of Cycle & Carriage, a renowned automotive brand in Malaysia with a legacy spanning over 125 years, reflects Kia’s commitment to strengthening our retail footprint and elevating the customer experience nationwide, while positioning the brand more competitively within Malaysia’s dynamic automotive landscape,” said Kia Sales Malaysia CEO, Hyung Ho Kim.

Sportage and Carnival will be among the Kia models that Cycle & Carriage will offer.

Welcoming the renewed association, Cycle & Carriage Malaysia CEO, Adrian Short, said: “As one of the world’s largest carmakers, Kia is a strong addition to our portfolio. We are proud to welcome the brand and look forward to leveraging Cycle & Carriage’s automotive expertise and customer-focused sales, aftersales and service excellence to expand the brand’s market reach and deliver exceptional ownership journeys to customers in Malaysia.”
