Chery Malaysia has not stopped launching new models for 2026 and soon, the TIGGO model line will get a new member in the form of the TIGGO CROSS Sport Edition. This new version incorporates localized design features, something which is possible thanks to the model being assembled locally (at the Inokom plant in Kedah).
Turbocharged engine first
The new features provide a distinct, street-oriented image compared to the standard model. At initial availability, the Sport Edition will be offered exclusively with a turbocharged engine.
The visual differences are for those seeking a sporty crossover look without altering the crossover SUV’s underlying mechanical layout. The move builds upon Chery’s ongoing branding strategy in the local market, where the automaker has actively aligned itself with various athletic and community initiatives.
In digital sports as well
This follows Chery Malaysia’s involvement in several sports and competitive events. The brand has also extended its partnership footprint into digital sports as the official automotive partner for Season 18 of the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League (MPL) Malaysia.
To mark the 10th anniversary of Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, Chery has contributed a TIGGO CROSS Sport Edition as the Grand Prize for the tournament’s Season 18 Legenda award. The partnership underscores the company’s efforts to engage directly with younger, tech-focused consumer segments as it expands its footprint across the Malaysian automotive landscape.
