Enhanced connectivity features for GWM TANK 500 HEV

An updated GWM TANK 500 HEV is now arriving at selected GWM dealerships across Malaysia. The latest version of the flagship SUV, imported from China, comes with enhanced smartphone connectivity features which expand the functionality of the GWM Intelligent Application (My GWM APP).

Remote start and control
Drivers can interface with the vehicle’s systems remotely, eg start or stop the turbocharged engine and pre-condition the interior environment to cool it down before entry. Climate controls can also be adjusted remotely or scheduled in advance, alongside activation of the cabin’s air purifier and seat ventilation.

Security features have also been expanded to allow remote locking and unlocking, status checks on windows and the sunroof, and the ability to close open apertures remotely.

Real-time diagnostics
Besides basic door and climate controls, the expanded app architecture acts as a real-time diagnostic hub. Owners can view current fuel levels, estimated driving range, overall odometer mileage, and 12V battery status.

Diagnostic read-outs extend to individual tyre pressures and temperature monitoring, with automated alerts triggered if abnormalities are detected or if doors and windows are left open.

Location-based services have been integrated into the system as well. A ‘Find My Vehicle’ function allows drivers to flash hazard lights and sound the horn in dense parking spaces, while live GPS tracking and geofencing capabilities notify owners if the vehicle moves outside a pre-determined boundary.

Digital access controls also permit primary users to temporarily share vehicle access permissions with authorized secondary drivers.

Priced from RM327,660.80 (excluding insurance), the mechanical specs remain unchanged for the latest TANK 500 HEV, with a 6-year/unlimited mileage vehicle warranty, 8-year/200,000 km hybrid battery warranty, and a lifetime powertrain warranty (only applicable to first owner).
