Aston Martin has long been associated with some sophisticated cars for Agent 007, James Bond. His favourite – the DB5 – had impressive hardware like machine guns, tyre shredders and even an ejection seat! And they have been full-sized running units specially built by the British automaker for the film producers.
Only in virtual world
The Dreadnought you see here is, however, not a real machine. It’s a digital-only military specification vehicle which has been a design exercise for Aston Martin’s designers.

Developed exclusively for the virtual landscape of the upcoming ‘Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4’ videogame, the vehicle represents an unconstrained exploration of the British brand’s design language, free from the legislative and physical limitations of real-world manufacturing.

The project was executed in close collaboration between the automaker’s design team and game developers Infinity Ward and Activision. Named after the historic early 20th-century British battleship, HMS Dreadnought, which pioneered a new class of naval warfare, the virtual vehicle applies a high-performance SUV silhouette to extreme combat environments.
V12 all-wheel drive powertrain
Underneath its digital skin, the Dreadnought is conceptualized with a traditional Aston Martin V12 powertrain. The developers worked alongside the automaker to accurately integrate the mechanical physics, propulsion characteristics, and distinct exhaust audio of the V12 engine into the game’s software architecture.
Power is directed to all 4 wheels via an aggressive, tactical all-wheel-drive system engineered specifically for the game’s terrain simulation.

Visually, the vehicle incorporates signature styling cues familiar to the brand’s production models. The exterior is finished in traditional Chiltern Green paint, offset by a visible herringbone weave carbonfibre chassis and anodized Satin Gold door hinges.
Military use but luxurious
Despite being for military use, the cabin features luxury detailing including an Oxford Tan leather dashboard, matching door panels, and a metallic gold gear lever. To meet the thematic requirements of the game, these premium materials are juxtaposed with functional tactical hardware, including integrated digital command interfaces, military-grade armour-plating, bespoke weapon storage compartments, and auxiliary reserve fuel tanks.

According to Aston Martin’s management, expanding into virtual platforms forms part of a broader brand diversification strategy aimed at engaging younger global demographics and digital consumers.
While the vehicle will not enter commercial automotive production, a full-scale physical display model of the SUV has been constructed for its public debut on the Call of Duty stand at the Fanatics Fest event in New York.

Available in October 2026
Players will be able to access and drive the Dreadnought within the DMZ and Warzone gameplay modes, where the vehicle will typically spawn around higher-end landscapes and points of interest. ‘Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4’ is scheduled for global release in October 2026, and will be available across Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, PC, and Nintendo Switch 2 platforms.
