Art of Speed (AOS) once again roared to life at the Malaysia Agro Exposition Park, Serdang (MAEPS) for the fourteenth time over the weekend, drawing thousands of fans and enthusiasts as usual. Staying true to its roots, AOS 2025 wowed the crowd with a showcase of customised machines from not only Malaysia but also other countries.

International guests also brought extra heat to this iconic celebration of automotive art and lifestyle. This year, some of the many guests included Shige Suganuma, Hiro ‘Wildman’ Ishii & Hey Murakamii from MOONEYES (Japan); Brendon Vetuskey Hot Wheels Product Designer (USA); Darren McKeag OF McKeag Art (USA); Mark Hawwa from The Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride (Australia); Yuichi Yoshizawa from Custom Works Zon (Japan); Simon’s Garage (China); and GokurakuDezign (Taiwan).
From neighbouring countries were Choppajoop (Singapore); Wicked Wallop (Singapore); SixtySick Paintlab (Indonesia); Fahmi Freeflow (Indonesia); Bangkok Hot Rod Show (Thailand); MOONEYES Bangkok (Thailand); Kustomanila (Philippines); and Borneo Kustom Show (Brunei).
Major revamp
For the 2025 edition, there was a major revamp which was evident right at the entrance. The iconic AOS gateway was more striking than ever, featuring a full LED display that lit up the venue with vibrant visuals and dynamic animations.
This bold upgrade didn’t just welcome guests — it set the tone for everything AOS represents: creativity, culture, and cutting-edge design. It was no surprise that the new gateway became one of the most photographed spots of the event, and a must-see attraction for fans of the event which began in 2012.
Small Cars, Big Thrills
The 3rd Official Hot Wheels Collectors Convention Malaysia returned to Hall C with more activities for fans and collectors of the famous die-cast brand. The weekend was bustling with many activities which included Hot Wheels Activation Zone, Hot Wheels Rare and Collectibles Exhibition, Hot Wheels Swap Buy And Sell, Collector sharing sessions, Hot Wheels Custom Competition, and many more. AOS 2025 also saw the launch of the first left and right facing pair of convention cars in Southeast Asia.
Other events included Santai Scooterist (a mega gathering of scooter owners); gathering of modern and classic car clubs; Roda Rumble 2025 for 2-wheelers; automotive flea market; fashion show by Sunburst Tribe; Moto4sale (a community-based platform for buying, selling & trading motorcycles below 500 cc) and test-ride opportunities for many brands of motorcycles.
Beetles Without Borders
The ‘BEETLE BATTLE’, spearheaded by Denny Kusumah from the Volkswagen Beetle Club Indonesia, saw the presence of many cars from our neighbour. The success of the program celebrates the strong camaraderie of the AOS community that crosses borders and cements long-lasting friendship between countries.
SoundCircus Takeover
SoundCircus Takeover, a regular highlight of AOS, lit up Hall A with a bold new vibe that hit all the right notes. This year’s electrifying line-up featured an eclectic mix of genres and talents — from crowd favourites Noh Salleh & Restore Iboe, Ruffedge and Romantic Echoes, to rising stars like Luqman Podolski, Iqbal M, and Budak Nakal Hujung Simpang. With acts like Chronicalz, Fugo, Langkawi Dub Club SoundSystem, Mai Tummada and more, the stage pulsed with energy all weekend, turning the entire hall into a sonic playground for music lovers.
Serdang to Japan
As in previous years, there were many different awards for participants and The Best of Show automobile and motorcycle winners will be attending the 33rd Annual MOONEYES Yokohama Hot Rod Custom Show 2025 as Guests of Honour.
