UMW Toyota Motor’s 5-city community sports initiative – the Toyota Malaysia Pickle Tour 2026 – recently concluded with its final leg at Subang Jaya, Selangor. Supported by the Ministry of Youth and Sports (KBS), the tournament series travelled across East and Peninsular Malaysia.
Over 1,500 participants
Over the course of the tour, the event saw more than 1,500 participants in the various competitive categories and grassroots programs. The player pool comprised 637 adult competitors and 289 junior players, with junior divisions accommodating participants from age seven and adult team rosters incorporating players aged 50 and above. An additional 177 individuals participated through organized coaching clinics.

RM175,000 prize purse
The tournament had a total prize purse of RM175,000, distributed across both adult and junior divisions at each leg. A key characteristic of the adult competition was its ‘Solo Entry. Team Glory’ framework where participants entered individually before being grouped into team rosters named after Toyota models.

At the 5 venues — Kuching (Star Pickleball), Kota Kinabalu (Pickleground), Johor Bahru (Play! at Dewani), Penang (Pickle by the Sea), and Subang Jaya (Playa Racquet Club) — teams competed in Men’s Doubles, Women’s Doubles, Mixed Doubles, and Mixed Doubles 50+ brackets.

Team bZ4X (named after Toyota’s fully electric model) secured the overall title in Kuching, while Team GR Corolla claimed victory in Kota Kinabalu and Johor Bahru. Team Urban Cruiser emerged victorious in the final legs held in Penang and Subang Jaya.

Much bigger community platform
“In just its second year, the Toyota Malaysia Pickle Tour has grown into a much bigger community platform, and that growth has come from the people who continue to show up, play and make the Tour their own. We are grateful to the players, families and pickleball communities who have supported us from one stop to the next,” said Datuk Ravindran K., President of UMW Toyota Motor.
He said the Tour reached communities across East and West Malaysia this year, making it one of the country’s most extensive pickleball tours by geographical reach. “For us, that is Mobility for All in action, creating more opportunities for people to move, connect and enjoy the sport together.”
Datuk Ravindran added that the expanding scope of the tournament reflects the brand’s broader focus on community movement initiatives, extending the concept of mobility beyond physical vehicle transport to sports and active lifestyle engagement.
