Bermaz Xpeng Sdn Bhd has announced a recall campaign for the XPENG X9 MPV distributed by the company in Malaysia. The local initiative mirrors a voluntary recall issued by XPENG in China for specific units produced prior to August 11, 2025.
The recall is to address a technical issue regarding the vehicle’s front air springs, with the distributor clarifying that vehicles manufactured outside this designated production period (ie from August 12, 2025 onwards) remain unaffected.
Owners of affected units will receive a complete replacement of the front air suspension assembly at no cost to them.
Extended warranty
To offer further reassurance to early adopters, the warranty on the front air suspension system for affected vehicles will be extended to 8 years or maximum of 160,000 kms, running from the original registration date. This extended coverage remains fully transferable to subsequent owners, protecting long-term resale value.
Bermaz Xpeng is currently coordinating supply chains, technical procedures, and service centre capacity with its business partners to carry out the replacement work efficiently without causing extended downtime for customers.
