In February this year, Chery Malaysia announced that it would launch at least 5 new models during 2026. And we were also told the sequence, with a new variant of the TIGGO 8 being the first one. The second one would ‘redefine flagship luxury’ and we now know it will be the TIGGO 9, a premium 3-row 7-seater D-segment SUV.

First details of the TIGGO 9 have been revealed although the price is not, but should be above the TIGGO 8 which is RM130,000. It will have a 2-litre petrol engine and being a flagship model, AWD as well. The Chery Super Hybrid system (CSH) should give it exception fuel efficiency with a long range on a full tank of 70 litres.

Standard features will include 20-inch alloy wheels, a 15.6-inch 2.5K ultra-high-definition display, Sony 14-speaker audio system with headrest speakers and also a Head-Up Display. The front and second row seats will have premium massaging and ventilated functions for enhanced comfort on long journeys.

You can’t book one yet but if you want to be first in line to do so when bookings open, you can let an authorised Chery dealer know and you’ll be kept informed.
