Quick look
- BMW’s SAV line-up gets updates, with additional models to give customer the ‘Power of Choice’ through three distinct powertrain strategies.
While much attention is on Auto China 2026 in Beijing this week, some companies in Malaysia have also announced updates and additions to their model lines, BMW Malaysia being one of them.
The German premium luxury brand has announced the introduction of updated design and technology for the XM Label and two new additions – the X3 30 xDrive M Sport and the BMW iX1 eDrive20L M Sport – that expand its Sports Activity Vehicle (SAV) portfolio.
These additions emphasize the brand’s ‘Power of Choice’ for customers, offering a range of high-performance plug-in hybrid, petrol, and fully electric powertrains to the Malaysian market.
Single XM version
The XM Label now serves as the sole XM version offered in Malaysia. It is powered by the M Hybrid system, which pairs a 4.4-litre M TwinPower Turbo V8 engine with an electric motor to generate a total system output of 748 hp/1,000 Nm of torque. This allows the vehicle to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in a claimed 3.8 seconds and a pure electric driving range of up to 83 kms.

New features include an animated Welcome Light Carpet and 23-inch high-gloss Black M light alloy wheels. On the technical side, AC Charging Plus is now standard, increasing charging capacity to 11 kW and reducing AC full charge times to under 3 hours. The chassis has also been re-tuned for better feedback, supplemented by increased acoustic insulation for cabin refinement.

Higher-spec X3
Positioned as a higher-spec version of the 4th-generation X3, the X3 30 xDrive M Sport has a 2-litre four-cylinder petrol engine with 48V mild hybrid technology for assistance and increased efficiency. The powertrain produces 258 hp/400 Nm, which can send the X3 to 100 km/h within 6.3 seconds and on to a top speed of 240 km/h.
