The Malaysian-made 2026 model also gets feature enhancements that include a powered tailgate and ADAS functions, at no extra cost.
Generally, when you do something yourself, you can save money and this applies to many things, including making cars. Now that PROTON is assembling the e.MAS 7 EV at its own plant in Tanjung Malim, Perak, instead of importing from the Geely factory in China, it has been possible to lower the retail price a bit and customers can save up to RM6,000.
The new pricing for the 2026 model is RM119,800 for the Premium and RM103,800 for the Prime. When the model was launched at the end of 2024, the prices were RM123,800 and RM109,800, respectively.
RM4,000 rebate available
Early buyers (first 3,000) got it for less as Proton e.MAS rewarded them with a RM4,000 rebate, besides other benefits. This RM4,000 rebate continues to be available for a limited period in 2026, bringing the price below RM100,000 (without insurance).

“We would like to express our appreciation to our customers for making the e.MAS 7 Malaysia’s best-selling EV in 2025. The local production and competitive pricing of the Proton e.MAS 7 reflect our commitment to delivering EVs that are both innovative and affordable for Malaysian drivers,” said Zhang Qiang, Chief Executive Officer of PRO-NET, the PROTON subsidiary handling the New Energy Vehicle business.
The 2026 Proton e.MAS 7 also reflects PRO-NET’s continued focus on innovation, safety, sustainability, and delivering a locally produced, high-quality EV for Malaysian drivers. “With the 2026 updates, including enhanced features and locally adapted specifications, the e.MAS 7 will offer an even more convenient and safer driving experience,” he added.

Extra features for 2026 models
Besides price revisions, the latest Malaysian-made e.MAS 7 also gets some addition features at no extra cost. The Prime version now has the convenience of a powered tailgate which opens and closes with a press of a button on the door or key fob.
The Premium version gets additional active functions in its ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) – Evasive Manoeuvre Assist to help the driver steer around obstacles in emergencies; Front Cross Traffic Alert which warns the driver of vehicles approaching from the sides at junctions; and Active Lane Change Assist which supports safe lane changes by monitoring blind spots and automatically adjusting steering if necessary.

Welcome Benefit package
Adding value to the purchase is a Welcome Benefit package (limited time). This consists of a 7kW Home Charger (worth RM1,500); V2L Adaptor for charging external devices (worth RM500); 5-Years Unlimited Internet Data Plan (worth RM1,800); 6-year Unlimited Mileage Vehicle Warranty; and 8-Year/160,000 km High Voltage Battery and Component Warranty. Additionally, there is also a Proton Owner Trade-In Rebate worth RM5,000.
The start of local assembly is timely since the government stopped duty-exemption for EVs imported in CBU (completely built-up) form at the end of December 2025. However, models which are assembled locally still enjoy that incentive for another 2 years.
The locally assembled e.MAS 7 (to be followed by the e.MAS 5) should have the same quality levels as the imported ones that has been sold over the past year. After all, PROTON has been making cars for 40 years, so it has plenty of experience. Furthermore, the plant where the EVs are being made is brand new, having been built last year within just 7 months. It has an initial capacity of 20,000 units a year which can be raised to 45,000 units later on.
