Stellantis Malaysia launches Leapmotor B10 as second EV model

Quick look

  • Third global model from Leapmotor International and second one for Malaysian market.

  • Two versions available with same drivetrain but different battery sizes and range

  • Positioned below the C10 and has 5-star Euro NCAP rating with Level 2 ADAS.

Third global model
The B10 made its global debut in Europe earlier this year and is the third global model of Leapmotor International, a 51:49 joint venture between Stellantis and Leapmotor. It is integral to the brand’s strategic plan to enhance its presence across more than 20 countries and regions by the end of 2025.

To date, Leapmotor (founded in China in 2015) has produced one million vehicles and last month delivered an all-time high of 70,327 vehicles in both domestic and export markets.

“The launch of the all-new electric Leapmotor B10 is a pivotal moment for Stellantis Malaysia, marking our strategic commitment to significantly accelerate the New Energy Vehicle segment here in Malaysia and across the wider region. Joining the innovative Leapmotor C10, the B10 provides a compelling value proposition that we believe is unmatched in its class, making cutting-edge technology truly accessible while meeting the growing demand for sustainable and technologically advanced mobility options among Malaysian consumers,” said Isaac Yeo, Managing Director of Stellantis ASEAN.

The B10 is offered in two versions – B10 LIFE variant from RM107,800 and B10 DESIGN from RM118,800. However, the first 200 owners will receive a RM8,000 rebate (LIFE) and RM9,000 rebate (DESIGN), reducing their purchase price. They will also be entitled to a free wallbox charger or free service.

Each B10 comes with a 6-year/150,000 km vehicle warranty and an 8-year/160,000 km battery warranty, whichever comes first. Service intervals are set at 1-year/20,000 kms, whichever comes first.

Leap3.5 architecture
The B10 is built with the brand’s all-new and advanced LEAP3.5 architecture and Cell-to-Chassis (CTC) 2.0+ platform, providing a highly integrated platform. Developed with input from the Stellantis Chassis Master team, this platform provides a lower the centre of gravity, achieving a near-perfect 50:50 front-rear weight distribution and strong torsional stiffness, resulting in improved driving dynamics and refinement.

Furthermore, the upgraded CTC 2.0+ platform and customised short battery cell solution offers an increase in volumetric energy density whilst freeing up valuable interior space for passengers. The B10’s Electric Drive assembly weighs exceptionally light at just 60 kgs, and its deep integration contributes to a total vehicle weight reduction of over 20 kgs, while achieving a maximum efficiency of 94% and a power density of 2.67 kW/kg.

Two battery sizes
The rear-mounted drivetrain motor generates up to 150 kW (218 hp)/240 Nm and is powered by lithium-iron phosphate (LFP) battery packs of either 56.2 kWh or 67.1 kWh. Claimed ranges are 361 kms and 434 kms, respectively. Comfort, Standard and Sport driving modes allow the driver to prioritise performance or comfort.

With 400V architecture, the charging time is said to be less than 20 minutes from 30% to 80% with 140 kW/168 kW DC supply. V2L (Vehicle-to-Load) is available for charging external devices or equipment at up to 3.3 kW.

The drivetrain has Smart AI monitoring, an intelligent system which actively manages operations to enhance stability, safety, and powertrain lifespan. To ensure consistent performance and extended battery life under demanding conditions, the B10 utilises advanced thermal management capable of detecting both ambient and operating temperatures, as well as the state of charge (SoC). The battery’s liquid-cooling system and the electric motor’s dedicated oil-cooling system work together to improve safety, thermal stability, and long-term reliability.

Centralised control system
The B10’s digital ecosystem is managed by an intelligent, centralised control system anchored by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 chip. This advanced 7 nm platform, equipped with up to 16GB of memory and an integrated Adreno 640 GPU, ensures fast, responsive displays with crisp graphics and smooth user interaction.

5-star Euro NCAP Rating
Already assessed by Euro NCAP, the B10 has been rated the maximum of 5 stars, scoring 93% for both adult and child protection. This places the B10 among the highest-rated Battery Electric Vehicles in its class in Euro NCAP testing.

Besides superior structural and passive safety, the B10 also has Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) using 12 high-precision sensors. The ADAS allows for Level 2 autonomous driving which reduces workload for the driver on long journeys but the driver is still required to give attention and be ready to take control when necessary.
