Based on the latest JPJ registration data, PROTON’s first production EV model has captured a 24% share of the domestic EV market, meaning that one in every four EVs delivered has been the e.MAS 7.

Local assembly
The e.MAS 7 is now being assembledat the new facility for EV production at PROTON’s manufacturing complex in the Automotive Hi-Tech Valley in Tg. Malim, Perak. Local production at the facility will initially be 20,000 units a year (which will include the upcoming e.MAS 5). As demand grows – which will surely happen – the output can be increased to as high as 45,000 units a year.

Local assembly will strengthen PROTON’s role in developing Malaysia’s EV ecosystem by improving accessibility, creating new skilled jobs, and enabling greater participation of local vendors in the supply chain.
