Turkiye’s Togg to enter German market with two EV models

Togg – the acronym for Turkiye’nin Otomobili Girişim Grubu or Turkiye’s Automobile Joint Venture Group) – is a national automotive brand of Turkey which was established in 2018. The company started off focussing on fully electric vehicles, with deliveries of its first model, the T10X, starting in 2023. In its first full year of sales, around 30,000 units of the T10X were delivered in Turkiye. To date, there are over 70,000 units on the road.

From that start, Togg has looked at markets outside the country and Germany in particular. That market has a large population of Turks who had earlier moved there during the 1961 – 1973 period when Germany recruited thousands of ‘guest workers’. It was expected that these Turks would be supportive of a car from their homeland.

At IAA Mobility 2025 in Munich, Germany this week, Togg has announced its market entry into  Germany with two models – the T10X and the more recently launched T10F. The former is a SUV while the latter is a fastback sedan.

Form the end of this month, both EVs will be available for online orders exclusively via Trumore, the in-house service and ordering platform of Togg.

Guided by its mission ‘More Than a Car’, Togg aims to provide connected and fully electric mobility solutions worldwide. Since its start, the company has consistently placed the needs and expectations of users at the centre of its strategy. As a national brand, Togg emphasises its truly national nature by having virtually all parts and systems made by companies in the country.

“Germany is Europe’s most important automotive market and therefore offers significant potential,” said Togg CEO Gurcan Karakaş. “It is only natural for Togg to begin its European journey here. Our two models stand for a user-centric, forward-looking mobility experience. In addition, we are building a holistic mobility ecosystem in Germany by introducing our digital platform Trumore to new users. We are also evaluating the introduction of our Trugo charging infrastructure in Germany.”

“With the T10X and T10F, we are entering the European market with confidence,” he added. “Achieving 5 stars from Euro NCAP underlines that safety has been a top priority for us from the very beginning.”

The T10X
The T10X is the first of 5 EV models that Togg plans to produce by 2030. Its model designation refers to T for Turkiye; 10 for the compact segment; and X for SUV. Like Proton’s models, the T10X incorporates elements of Turkish culture (especially in the tulip grille). Pininfarina was involved in the design work with Turkish designer Murat Gunak who was head designer at Volkswagen and Mercedes-Benz earlier.

During his visit to Malaysia in February 2025, Turkiye, represented by President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, gifted a Togg T10X to Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
The 5-door SUV (about the same size as the Proton e.MAS 7) has two powertrain choices – single motor RWD and dual motor AWD. Power output for the RWD version is 160 kW (215 hp) 350 Nm, while the AWD version produces up to 320 kW (429 hp)/700 Nm from its two motors.

There are two lithium iron phosphate battery options with 52.4 kWh and 88.5 kWh capacities. Claimed ranges are 314 kms and 523 kms, respectively. Charging time from 20% to 80% with DC power supply is said to be within 28 minutes. The batteries, for example, are made by a Togg subsidiary and claimed to last for 1 million kilometres.

The T10F
The T10F is a 5-door fastback sedan with the ‘F’ signifying a fastback sedan bodystyle. Like the T10X, this model also has elements of Turkish culture, notably the petals of the tulip. The T10F is slightly longer than the T10X but both cars share the same wheelbase.
