Putra Heights fire: EON to provide 62 vehicles

Edaran Otomobil Nasional Berhad (EON) will provide vehicles for the use of victims of the Putra Heights fire and other parties with related transportation needs.

The company, which is the automotive subsidiary of DRB-HICOM Berhad, will loan the vehicles for a period of one month. Many of the vehicles are of various models from the brands EON handles such as Proton, Mitsubishi, and Volkswagen, while its car rental subsidiary, Avis Malaysia, is also contributing some units. It is understood that there will also be pick-up trucks (Mitsubishi Triton) and smart EVs among the vehicles loaned.

“For now, EON is providing the vehicles to affected persons and NGOs without charge for 1 month. This may may be extended, depending on specific needs,” said Encik Akkbar, who is also DRB-HICOM’s Head of Automotive Distribution.
