Isuzu D-MAX owners once again displayed their patriotic spirit when they came together for the Isuzu Merdeka Convoy organised by Isuzu Malaysia as part of the company’s initiative to celebrate Malaysia’s 67th independence day.
This year, 900 D-MAX trucks and some 3,300 participants participated in different parts of the country. Their starting point was one of the 36 Isuzu outlets from Alor Setar, Kedah, to Keningau in Sabah, from which each convoy headed to points of interest within their region.
The Isuzu Merdeka Convoy this year followed on from the successful Merdeka Convoy 66 held last year that saw some 600 Isuzu D-MAX trucks participating, It was the largest ever simultaneous parade of popular Isuzu model in the country, bring owners together to celebrate the historical date in the country’s history.
Various activities were organised for participants to enjoy their Merdeka celebrations, including durian fests, white water rafting, glamping, treasure hunts, picnics and many more.
“Through the success of the Merdeka Convoy 66, owners have voiced their satisfaction and eagerness to participate in similar outings that develop camaraderie among Isuzu D-MAX owners. Hence we hope to continue developing such activities for our owners,” said Isuzu Malaysia’s Chief Executive Officer, Shunsuke Okazoe, who was at the Indah Utara outlet in Alor Setar, Kedah to flag off one of the convoys.
